The iPhone companion

Pair the Termio iOS app with your Mac over a QR code and check in on a running agent from your phone — connecting only to your own machine, never a relay.

Termio for iPhone is a companion, not a separate service. It connects to exactly one place: the Termio app on your own Mac, over your local network or a tunnel you configure. There's no relay in between.

Pairing

  1. On your Mac, open the companion settings to display a pairing QR code.
  2. In the iOS app, scan it. The camera is used only to read the code — scanning happens on-device and nothing is stored or transmitted.

Once paired, the phone can reach your Mac's sessions whenever the two can see each other on the network.

What you can do from the phone

  • See your projects and sessions, with the same live statuses as on the Mac, plus a cross-project "Needs You" strip for the sessions waiting on input.
  • Type straight into a session. The phone drives the real terminal — you're typing into the agent exactly as on the desktop, with a key-bar for scrollback and jump keys, and hold-to-talk voice dictation if you enable it.
  • Preview files read-only over the same connection.

Reaching your Mac remotely

On the same Wi-Fi, pairing is all you need. To reach a Mac elsewhere, put it behind a tunnel you control (for example a named cloudflared tunnel) and pair against that address. Termio never routes your traffic through servers of ours.

A Mac that's asleep can't answer the phone. For always-reachable access, keep the Mac awake (Termio has a "keep reachable" toggle) or wake it with a second always-on device on your LAN.
